Savitri got married in 1970 to Om Prakash Jindal, a well-known industrialist and politician widely known as O.P. Jindal. O.P. Jindal was a minister in the Haryana Government and a member of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from Hisar constituency. Savitri has a total of 9 children. Savitri was a housewife until Mr. O.P. Jindal died in a helicopter crash in 2005.
